The cat passed away due to complications from a urinary tract condition. She was only seven years old. Her real name was Tardar Sauce and she became famous after a post on Reddit went viral back in 2012. Grumpy Cat at the time was only five months old. Soon her face was on memes and she became a celebrity. Her owners explained that her perpetual frown and small size was due to feline dwarfism. Her popularity took her to talk shows and promotions for Friskies and Cheerios. Lifetime made a holiday movie, “Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever”. She found herself with a huge assortment of Grumpy Cat merchandise and a Garfield crossover comic. Personally, I wonder if there had been a Garfield if he would have made friends with Grumpy Cat.
