To Be Grateful Is Something

You may be grateful but others are not.
I have across a statement that says "ungratefulness is the sin of all ages." I have asked myself why? Is it impossible to give back an attitude of being grateful to the one who has helped you, small or big?
I remember what I have read from the Bible that there were 10 lepers who were healed by Jesus during His ministry here on earth. Out of those 10, only one had returned and gave thanks to Jesus for being made whole.
It is self-incriminating to say that you one of those ungrateful 9. But others fail to be thankful in return.
Do you have that experience of helping a person has never thankful you? What's your feeling?

@Nakitakona I have come across a lot of people like this and some were much more selfish and ungrateful than others. It actually sickens and angers me when people act like this.
I don't believe we have to do things for the need of getting something back. I love to do things to help people but it does get annoying when I need help, some of those people are nowhere to be found or don't even say thank you for what I do. So I am trying my hardest to be more helpful but towards myself rather than to people who don't appreciate me.

There has been number of times I have come across people who are just ungrateful and would never appreciate, but the point is this has never stopped me being grateful or helping others. Because this me, and I can't control other peoples actions.
