Is anyone know what happen to my flash disk?

When I want to back up important files to a flash disk, suddenly my Windows displays a message to format the flash disk because it is unreadable, after observing why the capacity size is only 500MB when it should be 4GB.

This is very strange to me, if it is corrupt it is not possible to immediately drop so much from its actual size.

@May2k8 Or probably there's a virus on it, Try to open your laptop in safe mode and access your flash disk. It can see if there are hidden files inside of it.

I have done that, my antivirus is always active and every suspicious activity immediately gives a warning and removes the virus.

Well, when your storage is reduced, it's corrupted. A hidden code blocks the reading process. Don't reformat it for you will be losing your files. Try to use virus remover.
