I Will Have Some Explaining to Do

When the plumber comes to my house tomorrow, I will have some explaining to do: 1. I did try to fix the dripping outdoor faucet located in the back of our house which resulted in neither my husband nor I being able to turn that faucet on. I will have to explain. 2. I tried to stop a little leak coming from the master bathroom shower. I ended up with a PVC pipe, thought to be the source of the drip, covered in silicone sealer. The pipe still drips. I will have to explain. 3. I thought if I straightened and secured the PVC pipe attached to the sump pump with a few handy-dandy bungee cords, the sump pump would no longer end each cycle with a loud "thump!" The "thump!" from the pump is still in there. I will have to explain. I am very happy the plumber is coming to our house to fix those things I could not, however, I am not looking forward to all the explaining I will have to do.

All that ultimately matters is getting these issues resolved.

@yanzalong Yes, two sump pumps, and outdoor faucet, and the drip from the shower. Oh well, it is clear I do not know how to fix those things.

LOL... I do give you credit for trying. I wouldn't have had a clue. Sump pumps... don't you just hate them!!

I despise those sump pumps. One sounds like a fog horn and the other has the "thump!" I did find that there are quiet sump pumps, or let's say quieter ones, and I am having the plumber install those. I can hear both loud and clear through the hardwood flooring.

I can see why. Sometimes it seems no matter how hard we try to save by fixing things our self , it just gets worse.

@crazyhorseladycx The grand total for today is a bit more than $2,000. They are installing new sump pumps, installing a new outdoor faucet and fixing the shower leak. The shower leak from the drain is the biggest job. Worth it to me.

@sallypup I can remove and install ceramic tile, paint walls and ceilings, install baseboard molding, and install carpeting on stairs I can remove wall-to-wall carpeting too along with the padding and tack strips too. I have even replaced glass in a broken window and am a might-fine hanger of wallpaper. I think any plumping duties should be left to pro.
