In todays digital world most people write everything using some type of electronic device. I remember when I was a child, I always had a pen and paper in hand. I was always writing something. These days, I do admit to writing more stuff on my computer. But, if you look around my home, you can see that I still love to use the old pen and paper, too. I have journals for different things. I have a journal for writing my poetry and short stories. Yes, I still do that from time to time. I enjoy sitting outside in nature and there is nothing I love more than to find a nice shady tree to sit under and write. I have dream journals, where I write down my dreams and what they mean. I have spiritual journals. When I meditate or something SPiirual happens to me, I write it down in detail. Does anyone else journal? What do you journal about? Do you journal on the computer or do you use pen and paper or a notebook? There are even journals you can buy, do you use that type of journal?

Are you old enough to remember when going to the mailbox was exciting? There might be a LETTER in there!

I have a journal of my everyday progress and plans I make. I always prefer pen and paper. For me it is much easier to express myself by old-fashioned writing

I cannot say it is a journal but recently I have been recording the exercises I do everyday to keep track and help me keep motivated

That would be a journal, keeping track of things in a book is what a journal is. I am sure some people would differ with me on that point. They may call it a diary or a log.

@whiteream I only hope that I can keep up with this log and most importantly the exercise

I still do things that way myself. I do know many online writers that just write, right on their computer

It depends on what you are writing. I have actually journal one of the novels I am working on. But, it is about a personal journey.

@whiteream I guess when you can pen out your journal into a novel or a remake of something cool, then that makes it the more special..

@whiteream I like how writing by hand into a journal or typing into a computer can change the way we write. In journal writing have you ever tried printing and drawing things on pages as ideas come forward?

I like taking notes on paper when I am thinking of doing a discussion.

I jotted stuff down on paper all the time. Sometimes, an idea will pop into my head and I want to write it down right away. I have notebooks all over my house.

For years, I kept a dream journal in a regular old notebook. But now I tend to email myself about weird dreams.

Yes I do. I have a book of poems I wrote back about 10 years ago. I have notes here in the office and at the "to do" corner counter. I write someone letters in prison. I just write on the computer and pen and paper.

I still have a journal; but it is a mix up of different things; from passwords; to health tips I read from the net; some prayers; etc. I am disorganized!
