“Baby, you can drive my car
Yes I’m gonna be a star
Baby, you can drive my car
And maybe I love you”
The Fab Four borrowed a blues term for sex. Paul McCartney said the original lyrics in his mind were bad. John Lennon said they were crap and helped him fix them. “Drive My Car” is about wanting a guy to be a chauffeur because she is going to be a big movie star. George Harrison’s bass was influenced by Otis Redding’s “Respect.” B side to “Michelle” single, “Drive My Car” appears on the UK album version of “Rubber Soul” and US album “Yesterday and Today.”

"Despite the title of this series, all songs must have the word “car” or brand, make, model or nickname in title. No referring to driving or traveling." That was my opening statement on the first post.

@JohnRoberts — okay. I thought you were trying to stay away from “songs with ‘car’ in the title.” And, to your credit, you’ve done so admirably.
BTW, this is a fine song. Not complaining....just spent a weekend putting, and I haven’t turned my snarky attitude off yet.

What is different in this song is that it is the woman that is calling the shots and in control.
