I Had to Leave Immediately After Bible Study

And it had nothing to do with Pastor Janet, but the assistant Pastor who got after my Mom for the books I brought to the homeless, and then went over the pile of books I was taken home for research saying that many of them were not Christian Enough, if he’d open the covers on some of them he would have seen the Pastor’s name was on them. We are supposed to be a Ministry that helps the homeless but apparently that doesn’t include encouraging them to read, and giving them the materials to do so. Don’t get me wrong I love my Church, there are some amazing people that attend, but this kind of behavior scares people away, people who need the help! I love Pastor Janet, Margie, Suzanne and so many others but one person can take down a nineteen year Ministry if they are not careful!

The only books worth reading are books that are "Christian enough"? How myopic!

It’s sad really, and it wasn’t like I was bringing 50 Shades or Gray these were books that had to deal with World War 2!

That is so wrong. A book is to be enjoyed and help people pass the time and not all of them have to be Christian.

I agree, and a book can impact a life in a positive way!

Perhaps they can address these issues at the next meeting

Yes, I hope so! The Bible Study is separate from the homeless ministry but maybe at our next meeting dealing with Church business!
