Polar wave means there is no warm enough garments.

Where live, our autumns and winters are mild. That, if a polar wave of cold does not come along. Such polar wave is here now. And we don´t have clothes or furnaces enough. I don´t have central heating in my house and my way of being less cold is to put on one warm cloth over another. I´m now mylotting in bed. It is the best place to be. I have a gas heater nearby. Do you imagine yourself with no central heating or air conditioner? That´s how things were so decades ago.

We have no air conditioner and we are fine without it, but we could not live here without central heating. Central heating is pretty ancient here in Switzerland.

As ancient as snow there. We have mild winters. We don´t need central heating. At least most people don´t. I´d like to live inside a furnace.

@marguicha My husband always keeps the house too warm, I feel it's too hot and he thinks it is still too cold.

No air conditioning here we use ceiling fans when it is hot in the summer as well as box fans to help keep the house cool.

I don´t have ceiling fans. They are not used here. As for central heating, I don´t have it either.

When I was young, air conditioner is a luxury and only the rich have it. But nowadays because of the heat, it became a necessity to us especially we do not have winter here .

Not many have that here. It is not really needed and I don´t like the kind of cold that AC gives.

My old house in Latvia could only be heated with heaters in the bedroom upstairs and in the large room downstairs. The old house cost too much to upkeep and all the hallways including the kitchen were unheated. In the winter there was usually a period when the temps went down to around -20 C for about two weeks. Everything froze and the last winter I spent there I lived in only one room and the water pipes burst. So I was glad spring came and I could leave that place. Stay warm and do the best you can until the cold passes.

We usually have not much less than 0C up to -5C at dawn in winter. That means that really it is not so cold as heat goes up to over 10 C during the day. But still I don´t like any kind of cold.

It gets very hot in South Louisiana to the point where not having air conditioning is sobering.

I don´t like winter at all. I wish I lived in the Caribbean.

I could imagine the situation that you're having. In your case, central heating would be so much appropriate. I can't imagine myself without central temperature control. We must be lucky to have one at this generation... Stay warm and take care.. =)
