I won't be taking the recommended dose

I just ordered a vitamin that I haven't taken in quite awhile. The vitamin is actual a multi-vitamin, and I won't be taking the recommended dose. The recommended dose is two per day, one in the morning and one at night. I plan to take just one in the morning or mid-day. I've taken this vitamin before and I felt that it was helpful. I am hoping it will be that way again. The vitamin has high miligram's of each different type and that is why I am cutting the dose in half. I don't want to put too many vitamins in my body as it can become toxic. I have a kelp vitamin that I sometimes take as well, but otherwise I do not take any kind of medicine. I do drink ACV every day and mix it with turmeric. Do you take any vitamins?

I almost bought some at Target today but I decided to put it off until the next trip. I eat a good and varied diet so I should be pretty good.

I try to eat healthier food items but I do not think I do a good enough job. I think the one I ordered is about a 90 day supply. Trader Joe's actually sells the same vitamin but I got mine cheaper by going through ebay. I've been getting the mixed fruits from Trader Joe's lately and also picking up oranges. I need to eat more cruciferous veggies but I find I get tired of them quicker so that's one reason why I am trying these vitamins again.

@NJChicaa I tend to eat them more in the hotter months but not so much every other time of the year. I used to eat broccoli and cauliflower for breakfast. Just plain, not steamed and no butter or dipping sauce. I liked it for awhile but got tired of it. Ate bananas, blueberries and raspberries instead. Now I don't really eat breakfast at all. Half of my problem is only eating one meal a day.

I’m taking a lot of medicines and just like you, those medicines that I need to take trice or twice a day but I take them only once. Too much intake of those medicines sometimes got me bloated and feel awful.

@JustBhem Do you take them all separately or do you swallow a few at a time? I've heard that salt can cause bloating as well.

Have you told your doctors about the bloating? Perhaps they can adjust the dose for you.

I am taking Vitamin C now..because it is good for my gums. I take some supplements sometimes, but no vitamins, although B vitamins, and possibly D would be good for me. I do have a B complex bottle around here.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I have oranges now..but I don't eat one every day. Alot of fruit is high in C including strawberries, and other citrus fruits.

@snowy22315 Oh yes, Kiwi is one of my favorites and I think it's supposedly the one highest in Vitamin C. I love strawberries too.

B compex is one of the ones I've read a bit about. I think Thiamin (B6 maybe?) is supposed to be the best for depression, Vitamin D is supposed to be great for that as well. I've been increasing my intake of Vitamin C by eating more oranges. I've either noticed a difference or it's a placebo effect, but either way I feel better after having started to eat more oranges.

I do take them. But I agree that it is best to have one piece in a day. I am feeling overdose if I take two.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I do agree on that. Did you try to consult a doctor about it?

@Shavkat I do not have insurance and do not go to doctor's.

The companies give a general guide based on an average, not everyone fits that average.

I do not take vitamins, I get what I need from the food I eat.

There are some foods that I just don't like and won't eat. I need more Omega 3's and the best way for me to get that is through a vitamin. I need to get out in the sun more though, that's for sure.

@LadyDuck I do love walnuts but I got tired of them and haven't eaten them in awhile. I've never paired it with cheese.

@ScribbledAdNauseum We eat salmon, tuna and mackerel several times a week, we do not have problems with Omega 3. I also like to eat walnuts with cheese, walnuts are also rich in this oil.

@fivecandles Why find a homeopathic doctor when I can just read what they have to say online? I mean, I do know you can't believe everything you read online. I do a lot of research before i do anything like take different vitamins, try different food that I've never tried before etc. I also don't have the money to pay for a homeopathic practitioner.

@ScribbledAdNauseum No amount of online reading is going to give you the same knowledge that they have...years of schooling, consistent re-training, conferences to learn the latest the soonest, its incredible how much a doctor does behind the scenes. Do you read medical journals, medical studies? Those will at least give you the best insight.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Why don't you go to the Dr.? If you're not a fan of modern medicine you should find a homeopathic doctor.

Swallowing pills does not bother me, however, these will be gummies.

I take some vitamin C now and then and I have just started drinking some aloe juice which provides good benefits.

I have heard about aloe juice but haven't looked up it's benefits. I eat an orange about every day, it's my favorite way to get Vitamin C. It's Vitamin D that I need more of at the moment.

I take calcium (Tums), vitamin D. I already have bone loss. I take a pill once a week for my bones. The rest of vitamins I think I get enough from food.

I need more zinc and more Omega 3, which is one big reason why I am goign to be taking these vitamins. I take tums sometimes but not too often. The pill you take once a week is a prescription?

@paigea I thought it might be. I'm pretty sure I've had family that have had to take a prescription for their bones like that.

I need to take more vitamin d myself. I am not in a habit of taking vitamins all the time but I think I should be. I have hormonal issues that I am trying to fix. I've noticed a big (and good) difference with what I've done so far, but I need to support myself and eat healthier, take vitamins, and eat at regular times.

Kelp is in the ocean. Technically, it's just a form of Iodine.
