Had an Appointment in Bay City, Michigan

Today, I had a doctor's appointment in Bay City. The trip was nice, it took me a little over an hour to get there. Everything turned out fine, but while driving home I developed low blood sugar. So after about twenty minutes, I pulled through the drive-thru of an Arby's Restaurant, to get some chicken strips. The weather was beautiful, probably around 60 degrees in the city. While I was fixing supper, the phone rang and it was my doctor's receptionist. She said that the doctor has decided to change my one medication. Hopefully, this will take care of the episodes that I've been experiencing. Photo: NOT MINE, Borrowed from Pixabay

I'm glad you were able to stop and get something to eat to take care of your low blood sugar.

It's dangerous to drive with low blood sugar, so I quickly got something to eat.

@just4him A lady we know had low blood sugar, while delivering the mail. She sat in her vehicle beside the road for hours, almost on conscious. Thank God, my mother called 911 because she thought her mail-lady might need help! Barb spent a week in the hospital, to get her system back on track.

The tricor is a medication to help lower my cholesterol. It was also causing my glucose level to drop too low, which is dangerous. She switched me to a statin, I'm not sure what it is.

@NJChicaa The first medication she gave me was Crestor but I couldn't take it.

@kobesbuddy I was on Crestor at first but it was brand name and cost me a lot. I get the Lipitor for free from my employer's health clinic.

Wow, that was a fast result.. So will you have to pick up a new prescription or just alter the dose you take now?

The tricor my doctor gave me, is suppose to lower cholesterol. It also made my glucose level drop too low, about five times a day.

@MommyOfEli2013 This is why it's so important to keep food available, at all times. I keep life savers and certain snack items in my car.

She was so prompt, to get this all straightened out. Low blood sugar is dangerous, for someone who's diabetic. I could pass out, while crossing a road or driving a car.

If my blood sugar goes too low, I will pass out. It's dangerous if a person is driving a car.

With diabetes(not severe) a person has to be careful, to have quick access to food.
