The Philippines newly elected senators were officially proclaimed. 10 of the 12 senators making a strong statement of support to President Duterte's administration by making a Hand Fist symbol (see the picture). I think the 2 lady senators though was making a stronger statement to support the voice of the people for being independent.

It's Poe and Binay who didn't make "fist bump" gesture. They've the reason why they're not doing that. It did happen in time of Hitker. Almost the Germans soldiers held up a right open palm hand to salute Hitler, but August Landmesser didn't. Have you heard that?

I'm not that good about German History but I'm glad that we have those kind of people now. I've voted Poe but not Nancy but now She've gotten my attention.

@Nakitakona The name of the German dictator is Hitler, not Hitker. You are right about August Landmesser, he y refused to perform the Nazi salute with the other workers.

With that kind of numbers in the senate I would think that legislative is now fully under control of the executive department. I just am sad that opposition was not given a voice to see the checks and balance of power in the government. I think this is not healthy for a democratic government.

Indeed. I hope some of them will act or obey the voices of the people rather than act like a clown...

@simplfred Or a puppet to the administration which is worse than anything previous administration have been very transparent as to how legislative and executive powers are exercise because there is always a voice of dissent in there to watch the affairs of the government. But now there will be no watchdog but rather a rubber stamp for the government.

@rsa101 Yeah, I can't believe that a lot of people are still admiring this kind of administration. I hope the realization will come to them.
