One of the books that affected me as a young teen was an autobiography of a seventeen year old Joni who took a dive and broke her neck and became a paraplegic. In the book, she found her self sleeping upside down, for she was strapped hanging face down and couldn't be moved. The pain, both mental and physical was agonizing. Then, she relearned writing again with a pencil on her mouth. Every now and down, I'd remember Joni. Today, I found her again. Fifty years after her life-defining accident, she is a staunch defender of life, enduring pain and suffering as against the cowardly act of curtailing it. Joni, Joni, you are an example of courage. I like you very much.

I read her book too back in the day. She was so depressed at first with what happened to her that she didn't want to live. But, then by the Grace of God, she repented and committed herself to Christ and everything she has accomplished through her disability brings glory to God. She is a true inspiration.

Joni was a girl that subliminally stayed in our consciousness. Whenever my daughters or their friends go on adventure, I tell them to take care, at the back of my mind, I was praying the good Lord keep them safe, and please, no accident like Joni's/ Joni's spirit is indomitable. I was amazed at her advocacy. Life is so wonderful and there's much to be done. She's at it. Wow. My pleasure, Oshy. Hope you are in good condition. Me, I just recovered from a torn meniscus and that situation was painful. Joni reminded me how we must be graceful in dealing with the pain. Blessings to you..

That is true. I do consider it a blessing to come across her book early on in life.

I heard about Joni and her amazing story/testimony many years ago. I have always admired her. I was a caregiver for a family member who lost her ability to stand, walk and breathe freely. I learned so much from that experience. Joni makes some excellent points in the video! Thanks for sharing.

I did consider that song for my title., It wasn't appropriate. But your response gave me a good laugh.
