So, I bought two items at the convenience store, some milk, which is a ridiculous price gouge, but better than driving 5 miles to the grocery store, and some beer which is roughly the same price everywhere. So, I get to the register..the total seemed suspciously high. I asked her to check the milk price which she did, and then, while she waited on someone else, I checked the beer price of course she overcharged me by 30 cents plus tax..What I want to know is when you go to a store..why is it 9 times out of 10 you are over charged in the store's favor. Also, if the cashier is not sure of the price..why not check or ask how much it was? I hate to be a pain..but I absolutely hate being over charged. Things are expensive enough!

Did she give you the right price when you pointed it out to her? Yes, you do need to watch them.

@snowy22315 Some cashiers don't like to be caught like that.

@just4him They need a price list at the register..so they can't make stuff up as they go along. I don't like that store that much anyway..former roomie won a 25 dollar prize there one time,,and they made excuses why they wouldn't pay him!

We really should know how much we are buying so that when the cashier overprices we will know at once and complain. Here, the Dept. Of Trade and Industry are always going around supermarkets to see to it that they have prices on their products. Even deceptive prices of parlor like rebonding costing only this much but when you have their services the prices goes up, can be complained at DTi and that is a violation that can close the parlor.

There is a consumer protection office here, as well as the Better Business Bureau, but they wouldn't get involved in a small case like this. Most people go to convenience stores knowing they are going to pay more..but they could at least charge the prices they have put on things!

@snowy22315 We all know that in convenience stores, the products are much more expensive. I guess, we anticipate that when we enter one.

Happens way more than just a Convenience store. Ever buy anything at WalMart? They are greatly known for doing this as well

Oh yes Snowy you are so right. Everywhere I watch them..as soon as they are done ringing I check my receipt even if I had watched them the whole time. They are relentless with the over charging everywhere. Did you get your money back?

I did...and when you have coupons..you are lucky if you get half of them credited. I have decided I just need to use one at a time..you can avoid frustration that way.

You have to watch receipts like a hawk.

You do, you really do. Mistakes happen more often than anyone cares to admit, and 9 times out of 10 they are in the store's favor.

You have the right to do so. They are convenient in one way but causing inconvenience in another.
