Last Monday, I suffered badly with acidity problem. I had stomach ache in the afternoon which followed by vomiting at night. I could sense the burning sensation in my throat. I had curd and other cooling substances but I vomited all after some time then I went to bed after having tablet for pain and vomiting. Morning I become alright. However, I decided not to drink tea in morning. So far I am succeeding with my decision. What are your suggestions on acidity problem? Image from google

You should avoid anything containing caffeine, so no tea, coffee, colas. Eat yogurt to reduce acidity.

You should minimize the intake of tea and coffee as they may cause acidity. But for a long term solution, yoga and exercise really helps.

What I noticed, these days, my son prepare lemon juice on daily basis and treated me with the same on reaching back to home from office. I think it created some problem. Otherwise I am not much on tea or coffee. Now I cut off all those.

@Sreekala If you had empty stomach for a long, lemon juice might cause acidity. I get acidity with sprouted grams. So I steam them and take them in very little amount. I add more cucumbers, carrot and onion to it. We all have different tolerance levels to different food items.

@arunima25 That may be the possibility, after lunch I am not taking anything and on reaching home my stomach must be empty. Drinking this way 3-4 days, I become troubled.

It was not actually because of tea, but lemon juice caused trouble. Once you get affected then tea is also not good for acidity.

It goes off with the time and medications may relieve you. I can recall that burning sensation while I had that happened to me ... it`s terrible. It happens while excess acid is produced or the acid moves in the opposite direction to oesophagus. It can be more painful if accompanied by gas that gives feeling of nausea, that happens a little frequently with my wife and mother. I had suggested her once to take a brisk walk as colon movements can relieve that gas but acidity takes a little time to heal. She got relief after a brisk walk.

Now I have to watch, what to eat and what not. Ginger and lemon is also not good when you have acidity. I do walk on regular basis, not for exercising but, it is a part of life, as I need to walk much distance to bus stop and office and then home etc.

@Sreekala Would an electric pad help? How about tums? How about hot water with honey?

I have not tried those things. Once the pain started it is sure, it will heal after vomitting much.

I used to drink in early morning (at home) then mid noon and evening (at office). I was taking lemon juice in the evening time after reaching home for 3-4 days continuously which made me acidic.
