Salsa on Breakfast Burritos? Yay or Nay?

My hubby requested that I put some salsa on his next breanext breakfast burrito. I told him that I planned to whenever I fixed him one with sausage. Well, today was the day. I whipped up what I would basically call a sausage omelet and dosed it with some salsa to spice it up. I fixed one for each of us and I have to say that it was very tasty. I don't think salsa is needed with your are including multiple vegetables in an omelet or breakfast burrito, but if just a meat ingredient I think it works well. Do you like salsa in your breakfast burritos? Or does it depend on the kind and other ingredients?

I always heard of hot sauce on breakfast burritos and I know some people that put ketchup on their omelets or scrambled eggs. I guess if that is what the person likes, let them have it haha

Yes, I would do that with certain ingredients. My husband, however, would not. I'm trying to simplify things and make something we will both eat and enjoy. And yes, he is one to put ketchup on scrambled eggs. Gross.

No salsa for us; and we don't have breakfast burritos. Oh, well!

@LindaOHio I am enjoying this little change. I love that they are fast and easy to make and hubby can eat this on the way to work without any problems. It is better than some of the other things he will choose if left on his own like honey buns, powdered donuts, or other junk.

@kareng That's very true...and don't let a man go food shopping when he's hungry.

@LindaOHio MIne is worse than a kid grocery shopping. He throws all kinds of things in the buggy. Then he freaks out when he gets the total at the register.

We love salsa on our breakfast burritos! Hubby will often mix it in with his eggs instead of afterwards.

I'm happy that I now have him (hubby) eating both English muffins (breakfast sandwich) and Breakfast Burritos and both are fast to make.

I’m not a fan of most salsas and usually have eggs out unless I use them for dinner omelettes, frittatas, or egg salad. Glad you and your hubby enjoyed it.

Yep, just needed a change. You know how you get tired of eating the same thing over and over?

@DianneN But variety is supposed to be the spice of life . I know it is a thing just like the ketchup on eggs. I could never do that one. My hubby loves it.

@andriaperry I can see where it would compliment lots of things for better flavor. What do you put in your breakfast hash?

I will be using it more. I'm enjoying this change and glad that he has decided that he likes tortillas. That was the whole problem, to begin with. He said he didn't like them, so no breakfast burritos. Men...are a little crazy. ha.
