Chelsea played Arsenal in Baku tonight in the Europa League Final. The two English clubs met 3300 miles away from London. EUFA decided to host the match in the oil and gas rich backwater Azerbaijan ( no doubt for huge oily fingered bribes) and both clubs returned ticket allocations as it would take between two and four days to get there - and back again, truly absurd. The absurdity continued, the kick off a 11:pm local time over there to be a 9:pm in western Europe, where the two finalists were always going to come from. If the game had gone to extra time and penalties the trophy would have been presented at 3:am! Chelsea won 4-1 and their second EUFA Cup triumph , a good season a long with their League Cup Final appearance and 3rd place in the Premier League. Because of that they pass on England's filth place in the Champions League for winning this cup to the team that finished 4th in the French League. Chelsea were superb and Eden Hazard the man with two goals, who is expected to move to Real Madrid next season, the clubs just agreeing on the fee, a World Record likely. Arsenal signed a Turkish manager to get more out of Ozil and they are slightly better than last year. Over to you Spurs...
