I can remember going out every year picking up pine cones, bagging them and selling them. Believe it or now it because a lucrative seasonal way to make money. I would only save the best for the people who purchased them. Some of them I would scent with cinnamon and charge a dollar more a bag than the regular ones. I sold them for a decent price so I always sold a lot of bags of pinecones. It was funny to me that it took so little effort on my part to gather, clean, and scent them. I was always amazed at the fact that people would not go out in their neighborhood and gather them to use. They were everywhere and they were free to whoever took the time to pick them up. I was glad to do so. I received pictures from a few of the customers who used them craft-wise and was happy to see they were not just thrown into a fire. Did you every find an easy way to make a little extra money?

My mom got me a job when I was 14 years old selling fruits and vegetables at a farmer's market and I worked since then till I retired. I always found some work to do.

@HazySue How do you sell a pine cone? My dog I had loved pine cones. I wish I could say I can make easy money but it seems like I try to find ways to make money and it is hard.

I never got a chance to do anything extra, because life has kept me on toes. But pinecones are really my favorites, I remember collecting and coloring them for decorative uses at home

They used to also buy acorns and such for wreaths. Moss from the trees cleaned and dyed in different colors were also a seller.
