He's in the Waiting

This past week has been a trial for me as I watched my food supplies become less. The end of the month is always a famine and a time of creative rationing to make it to the end of the month. This month it extended itself to my gas tank. I stretched it as far as it would go. I left for church this morning with an eighth of a tank of gas. I have a pot roast in the crockpot. It only has carrots and onions, but boy was it good. I have enough to make it through the day. This morning the songs talked about how God will always come through. He's in the waiting. I wasn't about to stay home this morning, and I'm very happy I didn't. God was letting me know He had this situation in His hands. Not only do I have food for today and enough gas to get home. I have enough for tomorrow too. I'll get to the pool tomorrow and on the way home from the pool I'll be stopping at the gas station and filling up. I've made it to the end of another month. My God was faithful once again. This was one of the most creative months in getting to the end, but I held on to my God and His promises to take care of me. Tomorrow is payday. Praise God! This is the song we sang this morning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r49V9QcYheQ Have you gone through some lean months? Thanks for reading. I have had many pantry challenges. I almost always can come up with something to throw in the crockpot, really anything. A little but of this and a little bit of that!

@Spontaneo It's a little harder since most of my food is in the fridge/freezer and when I'm out, there's nothing to throw into the crockpot.

I'm glad you made it through. There was a patch where my husband and I had a tight money situation. I had to get creative with our meals.

@just4him It is better when I don't have to be creative.

The end of the month is always interesting. It sparks innovation as nothing else does. When all my kids lived home and I had to feed them something every day, I was at the peak of creativity with food. I always managed to grab on to nothing and make it a meal. God is good.

Isn't it great how we're able to do that? Yes, God is good. ALL the time.

@just4him I always managed to give them something and tried to make it interesting. Sometimes, I just put a big pot on the stove and started filling it with whatever we had. Four boys, a girl, and a husband all thought they were getting fed but it was just fairy dust swirled with ketchup.

@akalinus I've now got a doable plan for my budget this month. I have gas in my car and food in my fridge.
