Late gardenning...

The season to plant my garden is a bit slow to my taste. I find that not being able to plant before June is a bit late. So that means you have some veggies that takes longer to mature you have to forget about it. So today I took a chance and planted my tomatoes, and covered them for them for the night. They'll do what they can.......

This year has been cool and wet here, so planting is late here, too. I put out tomato plants about a week ago and have had to run out and cover them three times because of hail and heavy rain. I had set aside a section of the garden for beans, but I just couldn't get around to getting them started, so I just tossed in some zucchini, yellow squash and cucumber seed and left it to nature. I'm going on vacation next week so they probably won't grow. Not a good year for gardening!

The season for planting is late here too. I just put some tomatoes seeds in the ground. I started some cucumbers indoors.

@beenice2 I have to start tomatoes in the house then transplant them when it's warm enough. I'd never get a crop otherwise. Weather everywhere had been a problem this year, it seems. I think a lot of people are planting late, even farmers.

One way to see if you are planting thr right time is to check local garden centers and see what is blooming there.

I am going about the last frost. Now it was late May. But I still wanted to wait in the first week of June.
