Oh, the pain

I am one of those lucky people who generally do not get back aches at all.
Something happened early this morning, and I am in agony for now. All I know is that when I bent over to pick something up, my back decided to have a spasm. It has hurt all day.
It hurts less when I stand and when I am working. So it did not keep me from mowing. I am almost all done, and ready to begin at the beginning again.
It is hard to sit here at the computer though. I am hoping that tomorrow I wake up and it is all better.

I did this particular thing one time before, like thirty or so years ago. While riding in the semi truck cross country with my first husband.

@much2say It is Friday, I still have pain. Some would say it was my sciatica, others, like the chiropractor I should go see would say it was in the juncture of my sacrum and ileus joints. (As the old timers would have said "oh, my sacroiliac") It is going to take a while, plus some stretches, to have me back to "normal".

@GardenGerty How are you feeling today? These things happen . . . I just find that I don't bounce back as quickly as I did before.

@GardenGerty Most of the time is not too bad, but some days it is so painful, very hard to bend.

Hope it feels better soon. A hot bath with epsom salts in the water might help.

Epsom salts is good. I took a muscle relaxer, but I do keep epsom salts in the bathroom. I would not have been able to get out of the tub if I took a soak, though, It hurts the worst when I am getting up and down.

Here it is Friday, still hurt but I was enough better that I could get in the tub and soak. Eventually it will be all better.

I was still a mess this morning. It is nearly bed time now and I am hoping it will be all gone tomorrow.

@just4him Nope, but it is better. Moving is my best bet for relief, though.

Actually, I did take a muscle relaxer last night. I think that is the only reason I slept. I will take one tonight as well.

I’m so sorry. I have chronic back issues, and it’s something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Hope you feel better soon!

I know so many people who have chronic pain in their backs and I feel so fortunate. It has been about thirty six hours now and I am on the mend. Not perfect by any means but definitely better.

One of the thngs we do is twist and turn as we bend to pick up things which then causes back pain. I hope you feel better when you wake up later this morning!

Yes, it is very likely I did not bend properly. It is now evening, today has been rough, but I can tell it is improving.

Biofreeze. Takes all the pain away. I hope you lay down, sleep. Wake feeling refreshed.

Biofreeze does not do it for me. I do not have any on hand, either. I took a muscle relaxer, and otc meds.

I remember doing this once before, over thirty years ago. I really do not have back problems often.

@kobesbuddy I have had my entire back "freeze up" from too much cold air. That is rough.

@GardenGerty I went riding on the back of a motorcycle, for 130 miles. The cold air was blowing on my back and I ended up with a terrible back-ache.

I get it. I feel more tired standing still than when I am walking and moving around. That is even without this pesky spasm going on this week.

I hope your back feels better soon! I am really feeling now how my body just isn't the same as when I was younger . . . it seems like lately it doesn't take much to tweak a muscle or two.

Maybe hot compress can help.
