Tom Rice, 97 years old now, was one of 13,000 U.S. paratroopers who landed behind enemy lines before the D-Day invasion. 75 years later, he and his comrades recreated that important leap to celebrate freedom and honor those who never made it home.
This video is worth watching, no matter what country you are from. This was the seventh year Tom Rice traveled to Normandy to make the jump from the plane.
In an interview the 97 y/o said... "All the GI's suffer from same blame and shame," Rice said. "It bothers us all the time for what we did. We did a lot of destruction, damage. And we chased the Germans out, and coming back here is a matter of closure. You can close the issue now," he said.
