Who has been strict one…... MOM or DAD…?

I remember, my Dad has always been cool, he never scolded me much. I have never seen him loosing his temper or even saying much about anything even to my younger brother. Only thing he has ever been adamant to was about our studies and career.
Contrary to how my Mom has been, she is one strong women. She has been a controlling freak. May be its women’s nature or whatever. She was the stricter one.
How has it been on your side…???

I was brought up by single mom. She is an independent woman and being a psychologist herself, she very well brought us up. She never raised her voice but we very well knew the limits.
I am doing the same with my children though I might not be as good as her. I don't scold or scream but my children know the rules of the house and where to set the limits.

My parents tried their best to raise us children. My father had a bad temper and I was a bit troublesome. However once I matured and became responsible I never had any problems with either of my parents. They were generous and helpful right to the end.

My father was very strict and he often lost his temper. He got extremely angry when my brother and I didn't follow his rules. My mother is very different. She never screamed at us and she is very calm and very kind.

@Aansh13 That is true. I had one strict parent and one that wasn't strict at all, so I got a bit of both.

I know, remind me of my old days, how mother always ask me to complete homework, household task but father is always, if you can't study go to bed and sleep but get up early in the morning and study but mother, is mother, She will always say NO NO

My mom was more of the disciplinarian and conscience in our family. She made sure to instill proper values and behavior and to correct us when we were out of line. My Dad set a great example to follow through his behavior and the values he lived by. You did not want to do anything which would anger my Dad though. He was not physical but cast a strong presence.

I was raised by a single mother (until she finally met my stepdad). She was and still is a great mom and always supported my creativity but she also knew when to keep me in line. I hope to be half as good of a parent that she was to me when that time comes
