Anniversary Weekend Getaway

Saturday was our 51st wedding anniversary. I had tickets to Mamma Mia at the Connecticut Repertory Theatre with my daughter so Al and I didn't do anything special.
Sunday we went up to Sturbridge, MA to spend the night at the Publick House. Before we checked in, however, we had a spa date at Sheer Indulgence Spa which is located in the building we stayed in.
Al and I both had 75-minute massages, he a deep tissue and I a hot stone, we then had pedicures and hot wax treatments on our hands. Al has never had a pedicure before. I had a hard time convincing him that men can get pedicures. I think he actually enjoyed it, that is him in the picture.
It was a wonderful experience, the massages were, absolutely perfect!! Al fell asleep!!
We then checked into our room and later ate dinner in the tavern at this historic inn. Food was great and so is the atmosphere. I had their turkey dinner, so good!! Al had a top sirloin which was cooked perfectly.
This morning we had breakfast in the tap room at the inn, again very good food and atmosphere.
It was a relaxing getaway and on the way home I stopped at Christmas Tree Shop to look for lawn ornaments, I did find one that I liked. Then I went to TJMaxx to return a wallet I had purchased and find another one and then I got an oil change on my car which it badly needed. That is about it for me, I got home and have been just chilling out.

lol I try. I have this need to try new things all the time and I want them to be fun and interesting. I had to convince Al to get the pedicure.

Mom and I have been looking for a good but cheap spa around here, but no one's been helpful with that. So don't think one exists, lol.
Ive never had a pedicure myself, but have heard its relaxing.

It really was wonderful and the prices were very reasonable. I am not sure where you are but I found this, good but not cheap

Good grief Izzy you have shocked me I can't imagine you have been married so long. You certainly do not look old enough! I guess it is all that good food and travelling that keeps you young and active. OH boy I would not let ANYONE touch my feet they are a no go area. I was practically coming off the couch when I had it done in China. The poor girl kept telling me to relax I said I am in the end she hit me on the forehead forcing down my head onto the couch and said now you relaxed. Afterwards though I must admit It felt like walking on air. She was pretty brutal I might add hitting each toe with a hammer! Oh boy never again! Happy Anniversary to you both!

Thank you and yes I got married at 2 lol NO toes were harmed in this procedure, he got his nails files, his cuticles cut and his calluses sanded off gently, his feet are baby soft now lol and they massage your feet and scrub them with a salt mixture, all very relaxing.

so delighted y'all got to be pampered a bit whilst celebratin' yer years together. a massage 'f any sorts sounds good to me 'bout now, lol.
sounds most relaxin' 'n to've good meals'n top 'f that? priceless. glad y'all made 't home safe 'n sound.

Happy anniversary, that is quite a milestone. 
My husband dislikes anyone touching his feet, so he'd never be able to have a pedi.
Our daughter-in-law took our son for a pedi last summer, but he did not like it at all.
Now a massage, our son would love, my husband tells me that he wouldn't like it.

My husband fought it for years but now he loves the way a massage feels so relaxing and I wasn't sure how he would respond to the pedicure but he likes it.

Its a great place to get away, unfortunately Old Sturbridge Village is closed on Mondays.
