Are You More Yin or Yang?
Yin and Yang are terms to compare everything in the universe. Resting is more yin than yang and working is more yang than yin. The ideal is to reach a balanced state. One way to decide if you are more yin or yang is to compare yourself to others. Do other people seem impatient or irritable with you? Do they want you to hurry and accomplish more? If that's so, then you are more yin.
Or do you find other people quiet, indecisive and slow? Do they make you angry? Then you are more yang. Another way to look at it is to notice if you have a hard time relaxing. If so you are more yang. Or do you relax easily? That's more yin. Almost everyone is either more yin, or more yang
A yin personality is: peaceful, gentle, sensitive, flexible, broad-minded, imaginative.
A yang personality is: competitive, ambitious, enthusiastic, confident, quick-thinking, logical,
With an understanding of yin and yang you can adjust your natural tendencies to your advantage. The solution would be if you are more yin to eat more yang foods and participate in more yang exercise and activities.
if you are more yang the solution is to eat more yin foods and participate in more yin exercise and activities.
Yin foods are: Leafy vegetables, tofu, salads, fruits, liquids and ice-cream.
Yin exercise and activities are: Slow-walking, relaxed-swimming, stretching, meditation, painting, chatting, listening-to-music, and reading.
Yang foods are: Meat, eggs, fish, grains, root-vegetables and beans.
Yang exercise and activities are: Boxing, tennis, aerobics, running, fast-walking, skiing, studying, computer, programming,

@BelleStarr I'm not a big talker but I'm always doing something. I don't know how to sit down and behave myself as my mama used to say.

I am decidely more yin than yang. I would definitely get more accomplished if I was a yang, but then again..my sister is very yang..and she has health concerns from pushing herself all the time, and I don't. I think I will stick with yin, although the balance would be best.

Can I be both? I actually think more yang but that seems to be everyone these days so I think I let Yin win or try to. I root for Yin.Yang is obnoxious.

Actually, from what you wrote about yin and yan food and exercise I am a little bit yin and a little bit yang. I am definitely a combination of both.
