Fascinating Creatures (stingrays)

As I mentioned in an earlier post, our family loves going to the zoo. Our local zoo has a new exhibit-stingrays. I never have been attracted to learning about them. I have never cared much to see them. However, this exhibit peaked my curiosity. These creatures would come right to the top of the water and let you pet them. The tank was surrounded by people and the stingrays were perfectly comfortable. Being that close to them, also, allowed me to see how unique looking they were. It prompted me to do some research. Here are some interesting facts of which I had no idea: 1. Stingrays are related to sharks. (I should have known that because they kinda look sharkish in a mini way.) 2. They have no bones, only flexible cartilage. 3. They have electromagnet sensors on bottom to help them search for prey. 4. They have venomous barbs in their tale for protection. (This fact I already knew). 5. Their gill rakers are used in Chinese medicines. (This really intrigued me. It is amazing how God provides for us through His creation). This makes me more aware of how we should be good stewards of creation.
