If I Report A MYLOT Discussion, Does The Member In Question Notice This?

Why do members report other members' discussions? Fortunately, revenge rating is not possible on myLot as there is no 'Dislike' button. A valid reason is if you spot that a discussion has been copied from the net or that it consists of only few words and doesn't fill even one line, is not written in English or that it is, say, blasphemous or obscene and violates the guidelines. You click on 'Report' under the discussion in question. After doing this the word becomes red. As long as the discussion is still on the net, you can always see this. What I wonder is: Do other member see the red 'Reported', too? I've never noticed it myself. More importantly: Does the writer of the reported discussion see this? I can't find out the answer myself as up to now no discussion of mine has obviously been reported. At least I assume that it hasn't as no discussion of mine has been deleted by admin. MyLot is not bubblews where it occasionally happened that the owner randomly deleted not only posts but also whole accounts (this happened to yours truly and five other members yours truly knew) in order to terrorise the community or for whatever other crazy reason. I can't say that I have sleepless nights because I don't know the answer to these questions. Yet, I'm curious and I'd really like to know. Maybe @admin can enlighten us? ---- I like the piccie but don't know what is says. Which language is this?

That is a really good question. I have wondered that myself, as well as if anyone can see if the 'report' button was pressed on a comment-as that can be done as well. It should be interesting to see if we get any answers on this.

If you look through the comment thread, you'll see that several members have answered in the same way. It seems that they are right.

Only Admin and you know when you report a discussion/response/comment. Only the person reporting (and Admin) can see the 'Report' button turn red. Unless you yourself tell the person concerned, they will be completely unaware that the post has been reported. It's your choice, of course, but, in the past @goaskalice has asked people NOT to respond with just "Reported". It doesn't really help anyone and is merely annoying.

I remember that Alex asked not to comment "Reported". I was pretty sure that only the user who reports can see the red flag.

As far as I know only you can see the red reported thing if you report a discussion. Nobody else can and the discussion writer can't either. I've seen discussions that I know for a fact have been reported and they don't show up red until I report them.

We can't see it, only the person who reports the button turns red.

Never thought about it, and I haven't seen a red report. Now I shall be wondering. I guess they tell the 'author' about the report

I don't know if they do but I doubt it. My guess is that a post may suddenly disappear without an announcement.

@Ronrybs You won't see any red 'Reported' flag unless you yourself reported it.

Don't know about the technicalities of the report button, so can't help on that. The pic says "right ways to earn money from mylot". It is in Hindi as @Corbin5 has correctly alluded.

I don't know really but a couple of days ago my post vanished. Some says it was reported but I didn't knew what the exact ground was. To make the long story short, I was not notified.

Once upon a time I think we could rate people from -5 to 5, at least from quite negative to quite positive. It was rating battles going on back then, it was not pretty.

@MALUSE Yes, and there were so many discussion about whether it affected our earnings or not. I don't remember if it did, but I mainly voted people up. The ones I voted down where stuff that got deleted by the admins anyway

Sadly, such a rating system misleads people to revenge rate.

@MALUSE Ofcourse there was Star rating system when users used to earn for their own post, but earning also depended on their ratings.

@yugocean Why 'of course'? Now there is no star rating, so the 'of course' is a bit strange.
