Shopping with mother in law

This is one thing I always prefer to stay away from. Shopping with her is a mess because she wants very good things at a very low price. So there are hardly a few things which fall in this category. She can spend hours just loitering around. We will be leaving in sometime now. Please wish me good luck .

Yeah.. I have experienced this too. Many elders will bargain for the sake of showing that they are smart enough. I do not entertain this..! "Common man!! ", that's a business and they should live with those income only.. few people just go below the slab .. I feel embarrassed of such situations...

I like to find brand name items for good price but usually online. In stores can be tricky nowadays =) My mother in law along with my father in law is on a plane coming to visit as we speak!

Haha! It must be an experience of its own kind. I have one aunt in law like that. She always asks me to company her as she feels I can patiently handle her. For me it's like loosing my cool.

Oh, that must be horrible. I get on well with my mother-in-law but I would hate to go shopping with her! Shopping is not my favourite thing. My MIL doesn't seem to understand that I am not feminine, that I don't enjoy 'girl' things just because I happen to be female. Even during conversations, I'll be interested in the conversation about trains or sci-fi with father-in-law, other half, brother-in-law but mother-in-law will always try to get my attention on her as she wants to make idle chit-chat. We did go shopping with the family once. My granddaughters had come to visit with their other grandparents and my younger step-daughter. Step-daughter's mum wanted to go shopping. A family that included two toddlers travelled the best part of 200 miles to go clothes shopping at shops they have where they live. Anyway, I forgot what I was saying. We spent some time tagging along but I couldn't imagine anything more boring than an entire day shopping. I certainly don't understand why people would think it's a day out, especially for toddlers.
