Hubby is working. I have decided to take down the extra beds in my house, because I very seldom have company. I am keeping one spare bed up--a queen sized one. The twin and the full will be stored in my "she shed" for a bit. I think I want to sell them. When my daughter and her crew visit, we will just inflate the air mattresses I have. She and her hubby sleep on the queen. Both of the beds have antique iron frames. The mattresses are nothing fancy. I would rather get a couple of futons or sleeper sofas for when guests arrive. I will then have much more room. So far, I have disassembled the twin, and moved the frame, and the box spring to the shed. I am not sure if I have enough strength for the mattress, but I will give it a try. That room is to be our office, anyway.

Slide it along where? To get it out of the way?

@wolfgirl569 This is a very light twin mattress and box springs (cheap) and they had to go outside to go to my shed. I slid them some in the house.

oh, i'd love to've those antique iron frames! i hear ya'n not needin' all those beds. here there'd be no room fer air mattresses 'n i've 'nly a queen sized bed. the young'uns usually sleep'n pallets'n the floor 'r snuggle'n the big ol' couch. hope ya refrained from movin' that mattress by yerself, hon. 'tis amazin' all the directions those suckers'll go 'n our backs/'r shoulders 're most oft the ones who pay the price.

The big challenge was getting the bed frame apart. This is a cheap mattress and springs. The springs were very easy, and not flopsy. You will laugh. . . once I got the mattress to the porch I balanced it on my head to walk to the shed. I have a two wheel dolly for the bigger ones.

I may give the twin to my great niece for her little girl when they get their own place. Right now the little one is just a baby in a crib. That bed actually was one that had belonged to the great niece. I have a quilt top I want to quilt to go with it.

We are wanting to set up our office where the twin bed was. The other empty room will allow me to spread out my sewing and crafting.
