Praying to the Corn Godz

I think, perhaps, praying that the rain stops. The mud puddles and the swimming pool under the house had finally all dried up...and today, it rains. We had so much freaking rain in April and May that it was easier to keep track of the days it didn't rain than the days it rained on. And all that water caused flooding in field and low areas, which means the farmers all got waaaaaaaaaay behind in planting their fields...and more flooding now could ruin much of what has finally been planted. Or perhaps it is just praying another squirrel doesn't show up to steal its corn.

Praying to the corn gods that the rain stays away and new corn gets planted.

Exactly. 'Knee high by the 4th of July' might be pushing things this year

Same here, it rained during the whole month of May, my vegetable garden is well behind last year. This squirrel is funny, it really seems that he is praying.

@myklj999 I wonder if squirrels sh*t pieces of corn out their butts like people do when they eat corn? LOL

@moffittjc They are actually smart about it, since you ask (although I wondered that myself until I knew ) They take a kernel and nibble off the end of it, then discard the husk.

Sorry to hear of all the rain there in IL. We here in WA have been in a drought this yr, and believe it or not Seattle area has seen the least rain this yr ever and the heat continues.

This squirrel knows that next year, there might not be any corn! Our sump-pump is almost wearing out, trying to rid us of all the water, in our crawl space

I never knew I had fat squirrels until I saw a skinny one. You have fat squirrels. And that’s a good thing.
