We had our annual meeting for the development last week. I brought up bear since one night I heard guttural noises which I surmised could have been a bear. One of my neighbors said he had seen one run into the woods off the main road not too far from here, since that time, someone else saw an adult bear in the same area. and just today someone posted they saw a cub at the blinker light in the same general area. I guess we need to be on the look out now.

staying away from the cubs is the most important thing. Mama bears get really protective of their young.

@snowy22315 but kids don't know that they'd wander on their own and if they ran into one they'd want to touch because cubs are actually cute

I think those with birdfeeders need to beware. They love those!

@CarolDM I have some but I don't use them in the summer usually. If I do, I think I will just load the front one..that would not be as likely to be a target.

We have bears in our yard and the neighbor's yard quite often. They come in seeking a quick and easy meal. The trash is too tempting for them. Telltale signs are evident the morning after they have visited. The trash cans are tipped over and trash is everywhere!

@snowy22315 many years back I watched a bear take the trash can off the deck, lay it down on the ground and wiggle the bag out. He took off with it into the wooded area and feasted on whatever we had inside.
