Watched Forrest Gump for the first time

Have I been living under a rock since 1994? Perhaps. I skipped watching this while I had cable, just didn’t see much of an interest in this sort of thing at the time. Until my sister and brother in law convinced me to watch it last night. It was good! For a movie over 2 hours, it held my attention for the majority of it! It is about Forrest Gump, an Alabama guy with something that makes him “slow” cognitively. He grows up getting teased and making only one friend, Jenny, who remains an infatuation/love of his throughout his life. He joins the army, becomes a hero, becomes a worldwide ping pong champ, buys a shrimp fishing boat and becomes largely successful, but what is missing in his life is his love, Jenny. No spoilers here but his life is filled with trife and tribulation, achievement, more tribulation. That’s all i will say. For sure not a dry-eyed movie for most (although I will say I did not cry!) Have you seen this? Thoughts?
