Finally washed my Breville Sous Chef

At first I didn't want to buy the Breville Sous Chef food processor but then I ended up getting it. Of course, mom paid for it. It was her idea for me to have one. Plus, it cost about $340. I can't afford that.
After it arrived, I kept it in the box for a while, then finally took it out and put it into the pantry. And there it stood unwashed and unused for some time. Mainly because you have to wash everything prior to first use.
Every time I told myself to wash the darn thing I was never in the mood for it. Plus, washing all those very sharp blades and discs is something I wasn't looking forward to. Finally, today I did it. I didn't really cut myself, though on one finger a little bit of the skin came off.
There was something blue stuck on one of the discs. I used the brush they include to try and get it out. The hairs from the brush ended up getting stuck between the blade and I couldn't get it off. In the end I managed to pull it out but some of the hairs got cut off halfway. At least most of the hairs are intact and the brush is still usable.
Now I am letting everything dry and the food processor with all its attachments will go back into the pantry. Hopefully, I will use it soon. I should have tried it as soon as I got it just to make sure everything is working properly. Fingers crossed that everything is.

I hope so, otherwise my mom wasted lots of money. I better start using it soon.

One of the discs had something on the blade (turned out to be a tiny piece of blue tape). I couldn't take it off with my finger so tried doing that with the brush that came with the Breville, which didn't help either. The bristles ended up getting stuck and I couldn't get them out. Finally, managed to do it but that resulted in a batch of bristles being cut in half. I was upset when that happened. On the plus side, the brush is still in pretty good condition. It took floss to get that tiny piece of tape out though. Wish I had thought of that before I used the brush. Would have prevented the damage on it. I also later realized the disc was one where you can adjust the blade so I could have probably turned the dial and made the opening where the bristles were stuck bigger.

@lovebuglena Well, fudge, what a pain! I'm glad you finally got everything taken care of. Now you have to use your food processor.

They are great if you need to say shred a lot of stuff. Saves time. But for just one small thing, might as well do it with a manual shredder.

@lovebuglena You can use them in place of a blender for marinades, salsas, hummus, etc.

If it weren't for my mom bugging me about the fact that she wants me to have a food processor I would have never gotten one.
