The book entitled "The Great Gadsby" was written in 1939 by Ernest Vincent Wright. It is about a fictional city called Branton Hills in which the new mayor, John Gadsby, revitalizes. This book is over 50,000 words long but doesn't contain one letter "e". The author thought of doing this after learning that the letter appears in writings about five times more often than any other letter. He actually tied down the letter on his typewriter.

@BelleStarr Thank you for clarifying that. I thought the title was misspelled and the author.
