Going bananas over banana facts

Ever wonder if you can eat a plantain raw? While at the same time, the familiar banana is in a similar family and grows in a similar type of geographic habitat. I don't like eating plantains which taste bad. The plantains also refer to another type of plant used as herbal remedy with medicinal property of diuresis.
Botanical Name: Plantago major. Other Common Names: Geater or common plantain, broadleaf plantain, rippleseed plantain, wagbread, white man's foot, plantain majeur (French), groblad (Swedish), Wegerich (German), græðisúra (Icelandic), piharatamo (Finnish).
