Remember my posting about the fact that effective in 2020 Microsoft will no longer provide support or security updates for Windows 7; and everyone needs to purchase Windows 10?
I need my computer experts out there to help me with this one. What about if I don't upgrade to Windows 10? Won't my regular security software protect me? Thanking you in advance for your feedback!

Since I have Windows 10 already installed....I don't know an answer here. Hopefully someone else can answer though!

@MommyOfEli2013 What I'm afraid of is that a lot of my other software will no longer run on 10. I have 200 or so video games, my Office software, my photo editing software, etc. If I had to replace some of that I might as well buy a new computer with the updated software already installed. It's cheaper that way.

It’s Microsoft that will stop providing security updates, other companies will have to announce the discontinuation for support on their own behalf. With Windows XP when Microsoft stopped supporting it, AV companies and other software manufacturers supported it for another 3 or 4 years as far as I remember, so you don’t have to worry about it like until 2025, maybe then you will be required to upgrade to Windows 10.
I strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 10 as it has got a more user-friendly UI and overall experience is amazing with this version of Windows.

Thank you for your comments. I'm going to upgrade before the end of the year on one computer anyway.
