What's for Sunday dinner?

None of the kids are here this weekend, so it's just the two of us.
Most Sundays we go out to eat after church, but today I'm cooking. I have a nice pot of venison stew almost ready. I simmered the chopped up venison in a broth of salt, pepper, bullion, onions, and bay leaves until tender.
Now I've add chopped potatoes, onion, and carrots, then when it's all tender, I'll thicken up the gravy a little, fry some corn bread, and put a few ears of fresh, sweet corn in the microwave.
Oh, and I have a few sliced tomatoes from the garden chilling in the fridge.
Have you had your main meal today?

Your left-overs are usually fancier than my regular meals!

That sure sounds yummy. I love good Mexican food. Of course, I don't suppose anyone likes bad food, Mexican or otherwise.

I love those, too. Do you ever have hot roast pork sandwiches with slices of pork on bread and covered in gravy?

@JohnRoberts I bought the honey from a local lady who has her own bees. So good!

Your stew sounds delicious. Making stew is a nice and relaxing process isn't it?
We had an early brunch of bacon, sausages, eggs, waffles and fruit.
Supper will be brought in from Swiss Chalet. They have delicious chicken and they are having a sale to celebrate 40 years of business. We'll have their 1/4 chicken dinners, fries, dipping sauce and a roll.

@1creekgirl Thank you.
I do not know who is happier with the brunch. I love to take my time and prepare it and my husband and son love to eat it all up. I used to do an 'open house' brunch on Christmas morning for anyone in the family, and there were years we had a house-full.

I have made a cottage pie for today and also some Bolognese for tomorrow. I just divided the mince so it is ready made now all I will have to do is boil some spaghetti tomorrow!

Okay, what is a cottage pie and what is Bolognese? I've learned (from you, I think) that mince is like our ground beef, right?

1200 is hard. You'll succeed though, you've done harder things than that.
