Are all things really possible for God, or not? All things are Godpossible!

Anything is possible when I am in it, God said.

Are all things possible with God? Jesus looked at them, and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” This Bible quote comes from Saint Matthew’s gospel, chapter 19, verse 26, from the Christian Bible. Really, all things are possible for God. That seemed to be a somewhat almighty claim to make to Alfred. How could all things be possible? What could all things include? Would it include, for example, the possibility of God even destroying himself, and then, the potential of this possibility, would actually be greater than God? Alfred was in his local church last Sunday, and the preacher was talking about how all things are possible for God. He said that, “nothing is impossible for God.” Alfred bulked at that. “Nothing seems too incredible for me to believe, even of God, how could I ever believe something like that,” he was thinking to himself. and so Alfred asked God, himself, if that was true, how could it ever be really possible? God answered Alfred very simply, saying to him, "Impossible. I'm possible." “I am who I am, I am. You be the same.” Love is the energy of possibility, and it is like a lever reaching under and into all things with itself, so like a fulcrum, love lifts all things with itself into God for God. All things are one in God with love living in them making them possible for him to be one in them then too. Yes, God is the only one who has all the powers to make all things possible. No power exists outside of himself that can control God. What God created, he can change in any way he wants too, if he wants too. Nothing is greater than God.

@Janet357 Yes, thanks. We should all praise God, that is a part of our loving him, I think too.

I have to agree with you. I pray and I receive and when things turn out well I look up to say Thank you, Lord.

Yes, God can thread the finest thread through the smallest of needles, to make things in his tapestry all work out perfectly in the end for himself. All such things are possible for God.

Alfred, Alfred, Alfred, glad you are asking, as many are as puzzled. Can man fly? Impossible. Yet a simpleton called Joseph of Cupertino did. He simply has to close his eyes. Close your eyes, Alfred, and see God. Impossible? Nope. Sometimes, He comes when our eyes are shut wide open. Very good anecdote, Steve Marshall.

Thanks for commenting here. God is full of surprises. Yes, sometimes we see him when our eyes are shut wide open, but we just do not recognise, or credit it as really being him. I like your wording there. Nicely put.

It is said where there is a will, there is a way. Some people say "Impossible" is not in their vocabulary. With that take, it should be much easier for our creator to do what he wants as he sees it fit. He can manage any consequences from his actions - siva

@Shiva49 Rewards befitting actions seems to tie into the idea of karma. Rewards for good deeds, retributive karma for bad deeds. The Jewish Religion believes in this idea too. “And now if You would but forgive their sins - and if not erase me from this book that You have written.” And God answered him, “He who sinned against Me, I will erase from My book." Apparently, this verse is from the book of Exodus, in the Old Testament. The Jews claim that they get rewards for doing good deeds, (which they refer to as mitzvah), and punishment for bad deeds. How does this idea work and fit in with love, though, in love itself, not needing any rewards for its actions? God does not need or want rewards, but he appreciates the cheerful giver, and the tearful sinner, alike. Love embraces all, until the day of reckoning comes, when a judgement of our past actions are made, and if we are erased from the book of life, we are merely placed into another such book, and sent back again for another go, as God does not kill one soul even, but allows each to grow into perfection via themselves in conjunction with love, as he wants to see how each individualised soul responds to his love in different ways. That's more how I would see it working. Love always trumps karma, in the end.

@innertalks Yes if God wants to, he can light up the black holes including within our own hearts. He has a reason to do what he wants when he wants. Likewise, we should also do our might in our own way to show our gratitude. We are born in different situations and hence when we do what is right, we can expect due rewards that befit our actions - siva

@innertalks Well said Steve, that is logical too. We know what is right and so stick to the right path. Being selfish to the extent of denying others what is their rightful due is not right. We can be sent back to earlier days to make us learn the lessons again and again till we get them right! Then we have more time to reflect too without social media etc! A clear conscience is the softest pillow for a peaceful sleep but some do not get the message - siva
