I bought one of these Blue Apron meal subscription boxes, just one, since I found a promo code (ended up getting 3 meals, 2 servings for $20!)
The vegetarian recipes I got were not SUPER healthy or super inspired but I liked it. The prep time for each was around half an hour, but luckily no baking involved.
I got:
1. Creamy Risotto with a side of potato-green bean-almond potato salad. The risotto had saffron which I have never tried! It was good but kind of heavier than I normally eat.
2. Egg and vegetable quiche. I have never had this before, and it was good! And easy to prepare. Like a little egg pot pie!
3. Peach and Fontanella Grilled Cheese with a salad on the side (this combination sounds really weird, but I actually enjoyed this most!)
Have you tried Blue Apron or any of these subscription meal boxes?

@maezee Yep, I don't cook anything anymore. If I can't eat it as nature presents it then I don't eat it anymore and if it has a mother then I don't eat it anymore either.

I'm glad you liked it. You're right, not really healthy. I've never tried it. Most of those subscriptions are loaded with chicken dishes, which are a huge no-no for me. I'm sure they're also laced with lots of sodium, also a no-no.

I've never tried a meal subscription before as I'm not to fond of that. I rather cook my own meals and then I know how they are prepared and know what's in them. But glad you tried it and you liked some of it.

@maezee There's just 2 of us in the household so maybe those meals would work for us. I don't know i'm still iffy on that kind of thing. I like preparing my own food.

We don't have that kind of money to spend on a subscription, but I do think they are so cool because it really gives such interesting meals that no one would ever think to try!

If you find promo codes and “first time” user promo codes they can be decently priced. Like this one I got 2 servings of 3 meals for $20. If you were going to buy the ingredients separately it would be way more. But I agree, I will not pay much more than that. It gets way too expensive.

@maezee Ehh we can get some pretty decent meals just with 7 bucks. We just have to work with what we got since we don't have that kind of money to spend.

I have never tried it but have thought about it before, I like that they say it is easy to make and you get everything you need to make it. No forgetting something and having to go back to the store to get one item. Glad to hear you liked it.

I did try Hello Fresh and it was excellent. I just never know from week to week how much I am going to cook.
