I Eat Weird Stuff

This morning, I ate a peanut butter and banana sandwich. I put peanut butter on the bread and added a layer of slice up banana. It was so good and it filled me up. Yesterday, it was mashed potatoes and green beans all mixed together, a heavenly potion. Do you eat foods that some people might think are strange? What unusual foods do you eat? Please don't post any recipes, it is against the rules.

How are either of these weird? Haha they seem pretty normal to me. One of the few odd things I enjoy is a peanut butter and cheese sandwich.

I never thought of a PB and cheese combination. Do you grill it or just eat it on bread?

@akalinus I guess you could grill it, but I just have it as a normal sandwich.

i fear neither sound strange to me, lol. aint'cha 'pposed to put veggies'n yer mashes taters? here i thought such 'twas normal, lol. fer dinner today i'd mashed half'n avocado'n some black beans'n hominy. i dislike avocados'n try most all to get 'em choked down. (nutritionist requirement fer the healthy fats my body can absorb)

@akalinus no ma'am, dislike that, too. to me, avocados taste 'kin to a rotten cucumber?? i've tried e'erythin', e'en put'em 'n smoothies (does make such creamy'n with 'nough other fruits, 'tis doable), tried 'em fried 'n e'ery other way folks've suggested. made a 'milkshake' with dark cacao, almond milk, honey 'n some xanthum gum. disliked that, though the texture 'twas good. got a wild hair 'n added peanut butter to the mix...not a good idea, but did get 't choked down, lol.

@crazyhorseladycx Why is it that the stuff that is good for you tastes bad and the stuff that is bad for you tastes good. Doctors are mean. Mine gave me a diet to follow. It is beans, fruit, vegetables, and water.

@akalinus that'd be a tricky query i reckon?? the hubs loves avocados, the aunt's well. the rest 'f the family not so much. i wonder't times if'n genetics don't play a part? i've found that'd be why some folks dislike cilantro'n others 'dore 't. who'da thunk 't, eh? that's 'bout how i felt some years back when the gut 'twas so horrible. i could eat 'bout 5 thingies, if'n cooked bland (no seasonin', not e'en a hint 'f salt/pepper/butter) 'n veggies cooked 'til could be smashed with a fork like baby food. i jest pureed e'erythin' 'n choked't down'n liquid form. 't worked, healed the gut'p purty good, lol.

Now, there is something different. Would you believe that I like Captain Crunch, especially the crunch berries? I might buy the smallest box I can find and try that. Thanks for suggesting it.

Peanut butter and banana sandwiches was one of Elvis Presley's favorite foods I don't think I eat any unusual foods.

I do think about Elvis when I make these sandwiches but he is not the reason that I like them. I just do.

It all sounds good. I know I probably asked before, but what are pulses? My memory is not sharp anymore.

@akalinus Pulses is English word for "Daal" as we call it in Hindi.Pulses are some split, large, dry seeds that are cooked and eaten. For example, peas, beans, lentils ,grams etc.

You are the second person to suggest cheese and pb. I never knew it was a thing. I have to try it, we only live once.

@akalinus If health would not be an issue, I could survive forever on pickle and rice.

I know bananas and peanut butter is popular as a spread. Bananas seem to go with a lot of foods. My sister used to have jam (jelly) and cheese which I thought was strange.

@JudyEv Yes, it really would be. I have tried all kinds of combinations but not that one. When my kids were home, I made some strange dinners but I got them all fed every night. I made lots of big pot normal stuff too like mac-n-cheese, spaghetti, stew, chile.

I also eat sardines but only started recently. It has vitamin B12 which helps ease nerve damage so I decided to eat it. Not sure I love it, though.

I love them, too. I ate a lot as a kid. Then I took a long break from them when I discovered other foods as an adult. But I still eat pb&j from time to time. Not often because I shouldn't eat it but do anyway.

Your food choices sound good to me! I like white rice with a few raisins, some butter and cinnamon sugar mixed in. Warmed up of course. Good for breakfast or snack. Yum!

@CarolDM I forgot how good they are. I saw a photo of one online and remembered that I need to do that. I had the bananas and always have peanut butter, my go-to food to ward off starvation when the month keeps going without the money.
