Time Machine

As I was paging through the photos on Pixabay I came across this one depicting a time machine. It started me thinking about going back in time or even forward in time. Would I, should I, take the chance?
I think I might. I would love to go back in time to the Victorian age. It has always fascinated me.
Of course there is something to be said in going forward in time. You know, just enough to find out the winning numbers for the lottery maybe.
Would you take the chance? What time period would you like to have the time machine transport you to? Would you go forward in time or back in years?

My partner and I have had lengthy conversations about this. He said he'd like to go back to observe a couple of historical periods. He considered going back to change some things he thought he did wrong or to see what really happened at times he doesn't remember well. He decided that he would only ever go back to observe, though, because, although he might have done something differently, he said he wouldn't want to change anything. He said he's happy now and everything that happened in his life is what led to it.
As for me, I agree with my other half. It would be nice to go back in time to observe parts of my personal life. There are also certain parts of history that I'd like to see - I'd like to have been around in the 60s, and I wouldn't mind returning to the 80s. I grew up in the 80s and 90s. If I lived it over again, I wouldn't mind living it as the person I am now rather than who I was then. Like my partner, though, everything that happened has led me to where I am.
I don't know if I would like to travel to the future. Although, if I were to be nearing the end of life then I wouldn't mind travelling just far enough into the future to see my children's successes and to see my grandchildren grow up.

@HazySue It's a conversation I've had several times. I suppose that's what happens when your favourite show is Doctor Who. We enjoy a lot of science fiction and must have seen most, if not all, of the time travel films and shows!

I am fascinated by Richard III so I think I would like to take a peek at his court.

@BelleStarr Thanks for reminding me. I will be sure to pack a set or two of modern nose plugs. Maybe I could take a case of them and sell them. I bet I'd make a mint.

That's an easy one. The 60s, my favorite time in life. My second choice would be medieval times.

@LindaOHio It would be interesting to see how they treated various maladies. Of course, like you, I would have to be a guest of someone high in society.

@HazySue I would definitely want to stay with royalty because being a peasant in those days was very unpleasant! I'm interested in the archaic medical practices they had back then too.

To take me back to the past, I possibly would try.

I would probably go back to about the age of 14 if I could know enough to not make the same mistakes.

@HazySue Yeah, I'd probably do the same dumb things all over again.

I would go back just so I could slap myself for making the decision to move out of state and wasting a lot of money on a jerk. I don't know if I would change it and make myself not do it because I have no idea where I would be if I didn't make that decision, but who knows haha

I had a period of time when I made some really stupid mistakes and married the wrong person. Fortunately my girls came from that decision so I would not change it. I think I would love to go back in time to a period before I was born and see what was going on.

@HazySue Not a lot of good came from my mistake. Hard to think of anything positive other than learning a lesson of never giving your life to a person who won't even give you the time of day.
