What was that Noise?

I just heard a noise. It was a plink and a bang. Or maybe the bang came first and then the plink. I thought someone shot at my house.
I quietly peered outside and did not see anyone. I went out and the neighborhood was quiet. I did not see anything unusual. No one was out except a guy mowing lawns down the block. I don't see anything broken or damaged. Everything looks normal.
So, what was that noise? Will it happen again. Who has an explanation or a theory?

I think it is aliens, it's my story and I'm sticking to it!! When in doubt, aliens always work.

It could have been a stray bullet from someone doing target practice near your neighborhood.

@akalinus I don't know.I often hear such sounds in daytime and even at night.I don't think you need to worry about it.

@akalinus You heard the noise.You peered outside,but there was nothing unusual.You came out of your room to see what was happening,but everything was alright.I don't think you should be so upset about it.Had anything untoward happened,you would not have found everything in place.

i've nary a clue 'nless y'ave squirrels 'r other lil critters? trees nearby that could'a dropped a lil branch/fruit/nut?

@akalinus hmmm, wonder if'n somethin' aint gained access 'nside yer roof? critters 're prone 't times to such, seekin' safe nestin' places.
so glad ya let the wee'un go free. no possums here neither. still'n shock 'bout the squirrel 'n wonder what else'll be showin' here??
lots 'f cat fights'n my roof, e'en fox - cat chases. quite noisy'n 'nnervin' whilst yer'n the midst 'f deep slumber.

I have seen squirrels running up the tree in front. I have heard cats running across my roof. One time, there were two cats fighting up there, yowling and screaming. I found a young possum in my wastebasket the other day. Took it outside in the basket and let him loose.
But this was a noise I could not identify and it was in the house, at least it sounded like it.

I hear strange noises all the time in my house. In this excessive Florida heat, there is a lot of expansion that goes on during the day on our houses. Sometimes you can hear the house creaking as it expands with the heat. And then, at night when it cools down, everything contracts, and you can hear the house creaking again. But sometimes there is a creak or a bang loud enough to make you wonder what the heck is going on!
I don't have a theory as to what you could have experienced. It's very weird how much noises we hear in and around our homes that we cannot explain!

That mower hit a rock!
Once a guy mowing slung a rock a half block away and it busted out my dads car window.
