Thunder Rain and Howling Wind

Our thunder storm the weather forecaster warned us about for several days finally came in yesterday evening. I went outside after the thunder started and the wind blowing. The dark clouds were roiling overhead just over the tree tops and the wind blowing so hard it almost bowled me over.
it looked really bad with trees swishing backwards and forth and the wind howling. I don't know if I had ever heard the wind howl before but howl is a good word for it. Rain started pouring and I came back into the apartment about the time our power went out.
My better half called the power company to let them know our power was out. The recording told him they had 2000 power outages and they were already out working on it. We thought it might be today before our power came on but it came back on in about a couple of hours. The storm didn't last long and it was sunny and hot again today.

there is a weather disturbance near my city but it won't have a landfall; it won't even becaome a typhoon, so it is still so hot here.

It sounds really scary. I hope the weather will go back to normal soon

I'm glad you got your power pretty fast. We don't get a lot of the thunder and lightning here but about a week ago we did. Living in Iowa and Kansas I got real used to it and tornadoes. I do miss a good thunderstorm. Not the hard wind.

oh my, seems ya got what 'tis normal here :( glad yer power twas not out fer too long. when such occurs here, i tend to wait 'til the storm's passed. i dislike those fella's ('n gals) bein' out there tinkerin' whilst all that lightnin' 'n high winds 're 'round.
hot'n breezy here today. the grasses 're turnin' brown, goin' dormant from the lack 'f rain. the horses're none too happy....

@RubyHawk yes ma'am. trees're most oft not the cause 'round here. usually lightnin' strikes a line'n breaks 't 'r blows the transformers. regardless, i prefer 'em to wait 'til the weather clears. they usually don't ('nless such's isolated jest't my place, coz i don't call 'til 't does) if'n others call. they're out purty quick.

@crazyhorseladycx We live so close here that when the power goes out the company records a telephone message to advise callers what's happening..

I am glad the electricity came back on quickly, in the summertime having no ac can be very bad.

It is rainy season (plus hurricane season) here so we get a heavy rain either in the morning or mid-afternoon or evening--very seldom an all day rain--then after the rain the humidity goes way up but Mother Nature always gives us a couple of good hours. Right now at midnight it in 'only' 81 degrees!
