So the mowing is done

I finished the last two parts of mowing I needed to do less than an hour ago. I am sweaty, and I am really looking forward to a great shower.
But first I am going to go harvest my lavender blooms, so that they will bloom again next month.I am also going to take the pruners out to some elm tree seedlings that got out of hand.
Then I will shower and work inside the rest of the day. It is going to be 91 degrees today. With a possibility of thunderstorms.
Hubby and I are having chicken salad sandwiches for lunch. He is at work. It is left over from last night.
When I had him get chicken for me last week he got a tray of boneless, skinless thighs. I cooked them all up at the same time and refrigerated the meat.
From that meat I made the casserole I posted about the other day. We each got three meals from it. Then each of us got two meals from the chicken salad. That is ten meals from the chicken, which cost less than eight dollars. It was a good deal.
I love leftovers. Oh, and cold sandwiches on a hot day are superb as well.

sounds like a winner to me (that chicken). good ya got that mowin' tended if'n yer 'pposed to get rains later. i fear there'd be no need fer such here's the grasses 've gone dormant from the heat'n lack 'f moisture. outside 'f the garden areas (the hubs's water wasteful....'n sets a sprinkler 'nstead 'f usin' the drip system) which i trimmed by hand this morn 'n fed the horses.

We have had a lot of rain this year. We did not get any today, and I am glad. There are weedy places that will cover us up soon. I will admit I prefer green weeds to brown dry patches of anything.

@crazyhorseladycx Hubby does not tend to pick the junk, etc. out of the yard in some places, and I do not either. This year I am working on it. Those are the places the weeds grow and fill in. To be fair, he used to work a lot of hours, and then he has been sick with several different things for almost two years. I was trying to get ahead of the "stick tight" types of weeds that have the seeds that stick to everything.

@GardenGerty we started off purty good 'n then such petered out. did get a lil thunderboomer skirt through here this eve. mostly a noise maker'n high winds. not 'nough rain to e'en measure, lol.
yes ma'am, green 'tis better'n brown. i fear that the weeds here'd be turnin' brown so 'tis most unpleasant. can't pull 'em, might's well be'n cement. i've made lots 'f headway from where such 'twas last year when i 'twas finally able to get out'n tend thingies.

I love stretching a meal into additional ones with leftovers.
Our lawn people are here doing the mowing today and I'm glad I'm not outside having to do that anymore.
