Day 2 Revelation 2:1-7 Revelation 2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things says he who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; 2 I know thy works, and thy labor, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast labored, and hast not fainted. 4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. 6 But this thou hast, that thou hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; To him who overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. What kind of testimony do you have for Jesus Christ? How strong is your faith? John’s first letter is to the church of Ephesus. Jesus told them He knew their works and their love, yet He held something against them because as much as they loved Him, they became complacent and lost the love they had when they accepted Him as Savior and Lord. Many Christians in the church today have become complacent, accepting what the world offers. Doing so, their zeal for God wanes and they are easily persuaded to join the crowd instead of standing against it and stand for God. John told them if they didn’t repent, Jesus would take their candlestick, their church, from them. Today the city of Ephesus no longer exists. If your faith is wavering, you have the opportunity to turn back to your first love, find the zeal you once had and stand for Jesus with the love you had at the beginning. Father, help me keep my faith and love for You strong without wavering. Help me see the deception of the world and what Satan is doing and not take part in the deception but stand strong for You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 30 June 2019 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

The tree of life is being mentioned here. I think it's a symbolism that has a deeper meaning. Hope we could partake its fruit and live in the presence of God.

The tree of life is the same tree of life that was in the Garden of Eden. When God banished Adam and Eve and put a cherubim at the entrance to guard the way to the tree of life, it's never seen or spoken of again until now. It will be seen when we get to heaven when we will all have the opportunity to partake of its fruit. Have a blessed day.
