Just Checking it Out

We have a Sears Outlet not far from us that I'd intended to look in on for awhile.
We don't need anything right now but I wanted to check out their prices and see exactly what they have. Was I surprised.
They have dozens of refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers. the store is large and it is packed full. They are selling everything fifty percent off and if you use a Sears credit card it's another ten percent off. We didn't need anything but when we do I'll know where to shop.

Is it like a Scratch-n-Dent store, is that why everything is 50% off? Or is it because Sears is slowly dying and closing stores all over the country, so they ship all their excess merchandise to the outlet store? Sears used to be such a great company. It's a shame that they were mismanaged to the point of going out of business.

@RubyHawk That's great that it's not a scratch-n-dent place. That means you are getting better merchandise. Sounds like that it definitely works out to your advantage.

It's Sears Surplus, I suppose it's merchandise they couldn't sell in the stores. I haven't seen a Sears store in a long time. There are no scratches or dents. The appliances look good. I don't know where it came from. Makes me wonder. I

Sears shut down here in Canada last year. In fact I almost bought a new sofa and love seat for $800 for the pair when they were liquidating. I so regretted not buying it then, but we just got a good deal on a sofa, love seat, and chair - all reclining - for $1600 including taxes from a liquidation store.
Isn't Sears supposed to shut down in the U.S.?

they shut our sears down some time back. what a deal'n those 'ppliances, but then 'gain one 'lways needs to check to make certain 's many 'f these companies 'll put'n 'nflated price showin' original 'n then the "new" discounted price jest so's folks think they'd be gettin' a bargain. then 'gain, could be with all their stores closin' they've a need to 'nload those goods.

@crazyhorseladycx They eventually do come to an end. I think the one we had before we moved to this apartment was about that old. We replaced just before we moved.

The Sears by use have gone out of business. They did not keep up with the online shopping craze and fell behind their old and new competitors. We still have one Sears which only carries appliances and there prices and choices are similar to Home Depot and Lowes.
