Grapes after the pruning.

I do not know if I posted a discussion before about our grapevine bearing some grapes. I posted some pictures on FB. My sister pruned the vines after I picked the fruits- and they were sweet. Two Saturdays ago, our laundry woman trimmed the grapevine and called me when she saw a small bunch of green grapes. I immediately took pictures and posted, acknowledging my big brother and sister about this. And 2 days ago, my sister, trimming the vines, called me again to show me 2 more branches of grapes. A colleague who was asking for a grape cutting felt so happy seeing my post because I tagged her with the grapes cutting planted. I told my sister that maybe with constant pruning, the grapes will bear like a ‘’bouquet, or cluster’’ already. My wildest thoughts!

You are very lucky to have grapes, they are quite pricey here in Metro Manila.

the grape stalk was given to me by a registered midwife when we had our post-graduate training in Batanes, and that was last 1981 yet. it took 5-6 years before it bore fruits, which were picked by kids who went to our house to watch TV (we were the first having TV before). hahaha. my mother wrote it to me when i was in Q8. now, our grapevine bears fruits every year.

You have to prune the grapevines when they stop to bear fruits. This is something that all vineyards do every year in October, they cut almost everything and the year after they get more grapes.

@ridingbet Here the grapes vines only bear once a year, the fruits are ready to be picked up from September to mid-October.

yes, my sister prunes the vine after every producing of fruits; that way, they should bear again fast.

it is a good place in your area, hija, because it is not as hot as here. our grapevine is at the left side of our house, and it is shaded.

Good for you Ingrid thatbyou have you own grape vine in your premise. I thought grapes grow only in places with cold climates like Baguio?

the grapevine here is in a shaded area, and is near our faucet where water constantly flows. maybe this is the reason why the grapevine keeps on sprouting more leaves and bearing fruits.

i'm glad someone'd be tendin' all those grapes :) odd, i'd not thought 'f rootin' a cuttin'? perhaps i shall do such this autumn. the grapevines here 've been neglected the past 8yrs. i tended 'em last autumn 'n 've quite a few. the birds'll most likely beat me to 'em, 's such's 'lways been the case, lol.

my mother cut a branch and planted it at the back; it grew and bore fruits. my sister though, said the seeds should be germinating to produce the vine.

That is awesome my friend. They are fresh from the tree. They are expensive in SM and in all the malls in the city.

my sister does the pruning, because if it is me, a hundred percent the vine will die.

my sister does the pruning because she has the green thumb. i doubt it when i prune, because the vine might wither
