Addiction to shows on Netflix

The missus and I have several shows we watch on Netflix. Each show has its own night and we usually watch just one episode. Monday=West Wing, Tuesday=Grace and Frankie, Wednesday=Grey's Anatomy, Thursday=Call the Midwife, Friday=Gilmore Girls. On the weekends we take pot luck by looking through the movies until we find something that looks interesting to both of us. By both of us, I mean her.
All this changed on the 4th of July. We sat down for lunch and we were going to watch 1 episode of Gey's Anatomy because we wanted to see what happened next. We wound up watching the last 7 shows of Season 2 because my missus got so into the storylines.
Thursday, we restrained ourselves and only watched the first episode of season 3 and Friday, we did watch Gilmore Girls. Tonight, we watched three more episodes of Grey's Anatomy. My wife is starting to refer to the characters as if they are people we know. I'm worried about her. She's never binge-watched a show before. I'm concerned she'll start blurring the line between reality and the world of Grey's Anatomy.
Tomorrow, well, maybe we won't watch any episodes tomorrow. There is the final of the Women's World Cup between the Netherlands and the US in the afternoon. Then in the evening, she'll want to watch All Creatures on DVD. She has that entire series. By Monday I'm hoping she'll have detoxed, and we can go back to watching one, or two, maybe three episodes a week.
Have you ever gotten hooked on a show you could stream and binge-watched it until you felt like you were living in the show?

Not sure it has gotten that extreme but I can get hooked on a series and binge several episodes at once. Most recently it was the Office, but now I am binging You. I also have watched Breaking Bad and Frasier in a binging way.

@snowy22315 Since my books haven't been made into a TV series yet, you'd have to binge read instead of binge watch.

I wish I had a TV set so that I could watch a movie that I like.

@DWDavis Well, she really really likes this one.
Its just like a good book, sometimes you just cant stop as it will leave you hanging and drive you nuts until you get the answer.

Yes...most of the web series are addictive. I have always ended up warming my work. So I don't watch them now.

I do it all the time but never do mistake tv for reality, I might add do not tell your wife that. She be like give me more credit than that.
Although is she is talking like characters are people she knows then maybe you have a point.

My husband and I are working our way through NCIS one episode at a time, I'm watching Agents of Shield with my daughters, also one episode at a time. We aren't binge watchers.
Call the Midwife is phenomenal!
