Yesterday's Multiple Kinks

As you know, my plans yesterday were to go to the flea market. One of my daughters was coming to meet my mom and me at my house and we were all going together. The first kink was my daughter falling back asleep yesterday morning. That put us about an hour late. The next kink came when her significant other took her car to gas it up for her. He ran into an old friend that he had not seen in several years. They started talking and that turned into a conversation that lasted over 30 minutes. My daughter finally got on the road and I went out to feed the chickens and gather eggs. One of the juvenile chickens (remember the babies I got in April?) managed to slip past me as I came into the coop. I spent the next 1.5 hours trying to outsmart her and catch her. No luck. My hubby came out to help but his tactics lean toward chasing the chicken and that doesn't work at all. Then you are left worn out. The temperature was in the mid 90's yesterday and I was drenched. I decided to wait for my granddaughter's help since she has chickens too. We tried for about 5 minutes and I gave up. I was drenched in sweat. I ran inside and took a fast bath and got dressed which my daughter transferred all her things to my car. Do you ever have a day when so many things go wrong and kink after kink? I was determined to not let all the kinks ruin the day. We were running late but did everything we wanted to do and got to visit a cousin. Photo: Public Domain
