I Am Hobbling Around

Man, it has been one hell of a month for me. I started with one little ailment which I will not disclose here around the 12th of June, and I think that has pretty much run its course, but now for the past 4 or so days I am suffering what I think is gout. I only say that because I have had it before and know exactly what it feels like. Had it once back in my late 20s and it was supposedly a result of eating too much red meat and drinking too much brandy. But now am I hobbling around, and I have to go back to work tomorrow. I was hobbling around most of last week. I generally work in the office since I am in sales, but there are some warehouse duties we have to do since we have not had a warehouse guy for a while since the last one left. We simply decided not to replace him. But Tuesday I am supposed to hit the road traveling on business again, and it seems like it is going to be a chore hobbling around my customer's shops and getting in and out of the hotels with my multiple bags that I usually have with me. Ugh. I just need a break from pain.

Cherry juice. Hmm. I may have to get some of that. Can I put vodka in it?

@NJChicaa I like your thinking. Exactly. Why not? I'm just embellishing the juice, but the juice is the important part.

I hope you don't go on your sales calls like the guy in the photo. I've had my share of injuries over the years. It seems the older I get the bigger clutz I become. The good news is eventually the aches and pains subside over time. Although by the time the pain goes away I injure another body part

@dgobucks Now, see I have always heard it the other way. The aches and pains don't subside over time, they get worse and move to different parts. All of part of getting older I guess.

I wound up postponing my trip. Just can't do it. My coworkers are being helpful, if not also making jokes.

That's a shame. I hope the situation improves soon. I know gout is painful although I've never had it.

It seems to be getting better now. It's not fun at all, that's all I can say about it.

I've never had gout, but i've heard from others that it can be quite painful. Have you ever had Shingles? I came down with a bad case of Shingle on my neck and face and head about three years back, and I thought I was going to die from the pain. That was the most painful thing I have ever experienced. Even after the Shingles went away, the area was still sensitive to the touch and it still hurt a lot when I would try to brush my hair.
