My favorite was a book called "Marigold and the Dragon". It sat for years in my parents attic. They finally were cleaning out their house , found it and brought it to me. It is such a special book.

Archie comic books were popular while I was growing up. As a child, I enjoyed Walt Disney books. My grandma had a grade-school reader, I loved reading and looking at the pictures. She was a retired grade-school teacher.

One we had called Timothy Tiger was pretty cool. Sis especially liked that one. Of course I had all of the Dr. Seuss too, and Go Dog Go, was a personal favorite.

There was a book my mother got when my brother was born. I loved it and had it almost memorized. I'm sad because that book is no longer around. It was called Solomon Shag about a big dog who could sleep anywhere and the only thing he wanted was a home of his own. Edit - I looked on Amazon and they have it.

I liked a book called Tommy and The Wishing Stone byThornton W Burgess and The City Under the Back Steps by Evelyn Sibley Lampman and Sajo and Her Beaver People by Grey Owl (Archibald Belaney) One was about Tommy becoming various animals, such as field mouse and learning all about the animals' lives. The City Under The Back Steps was a boy and girl shrinking to the size of ants and learning all about ants. Not picture books but I really enjoyed them.
